Putting on the Glitz at ArtVanGo

Fabulous two days at ArtVanGo teaching the Putting on the Glitz technique.  A very talented group who all brought their own skills to apply to the technique and produced eight very different pieces of work.
Work by Yvonne using her own design

Fabulous leaves by Judy
Using black velvet as a base fabric we first used Lumiere fabric paints

Sea inspired by Liz
The second layer was using bonded sheers to add a different texture and subtle layer of colour and sheen

A spiritual piece by Liz

Forest in the snow by Penny (wolf to be added)

Yvonne using her own design shape

The third layer of transfoils were placed on top.

And finally highlights of glitter film added.
On the second day we stitched using a variety of threads and machine techniques.
Jenny's piece with a lovely colour combination

Most pieces are a work in progress with further machine and hand stitch to be added. Maybe even the odd bead or sequin for extra 'sparkle'

Lana's piece evolved over the two days

My technique workshops are all about each participant being able to use the various techniques to interpret in their own style - the result is eight entirely different pieces of work. And none of them remotely like the tutor's samples!
