I have enjoyed hand stitiching some of these by the fire on winter evenings and now have a nice little pile.
Now to give them a contemporary twist.......
Dyeing some fabric to match my threads. In another blast from the past this tin of dylon dye cost 92p from Woolworths - can anyone suggest a date? It still works too.
Spotlight Textiles are one of the exhibiting groups and we will be exhibiting a series of work from our 'Spotlight on......East Anglia' last shown at Snape Maltings in April 2022. My main piece for that exhibition inspired by the traditional Suffolk craft of pargetting has sold but two vessels will be on display plus work inspired by Sutton Hoo.
Spotlight are also showing a new series of work as a taster for the next exhibition 'Spotlight on......Heritage' with each us using an inherited or recycled piece of cloth
I will also be there as Mary McIntosh: Textile Artist and Tutor with my own small stand. New workshops to be announced for 2023. Packs, fabrics, books, aprons and finished pieces of work for sale too.
